The beach
Summer. My friends call me: 'Mehdi. Beach. Today. No excuses.'
I say no. They insist. So I go.
They run into the water. I stay on the sand, in my t-shirt.
'Come on bro!'
'I don't like swimming.'
That was a lie. I just didn't want anyone to see my body.
One friend looked at me and understood. He didn't push. He stayed with me.
After that day, I only went to the beach at night. At night, nobody asks you to swim.
